K-epsilon turbulence model assessment with reduced numerical diffusion for coaxial jets

Abstract: A numerical study has been conducted to evaluate the performance of the k-e turbulence model for axisymmetric, unconfined, swirling and nonswirling c o a x i a l jet flows. Two lower order schemes, hybrid and power-law, and two higher order schemes, flux-spline and hounded skew upwind differencing, were employed in this investigation.
