Justification of the method of determination of the border overburden ratio

Abstract: The economic efficiency of the enterprise and the length of its operation, the full utilization of mineral reserves and the total cost of operation depend on the selected depth and boundaries of opencast mining. In such conditions of the deposits' development it is necessary to evaluate the capabilities of the raw material base for the further development of the mining enterprise. The basis for determining of the border overburden ratio is on the condition that the price of manufactured marketable output of th… Show more

“…The existing relationship between the parameters of the development system [8,9], which provide the norm of reserves ready for excavation in a open-pit [10,11], determines, with a change in productivity for a mineral, a change in stripping ratios [12][13][14]. In turn, the change in stripping ratio is reflected in the volumes of rock mass and their distribution over the years of operation, which ultimately is one of the main factors affecting the economic indicators of a 1254 (2023) 012050 IOP Publishing doi:10.1088/1755-1315/1254/1/012050 2 open-pit mine [15][16][17].…”

“…When developing a mineral, a large range of works is envisaged, which also includes the study of the properties of the mineral, the study of the stress-strain state of the field massif and other measures that ensure the most complete and efficient extraction of the mineral with the least losses for the environment [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. However, when mining a mineral, both open and underground, there is a violation of the ecological balance and damage to the environment.…”
