ÖzGiriş: Kadın yaşamında eşsiz bir deneyim olan doğum genellikle olumlu bir olay olarak algılanmaktadır. Amaç: Bu çalışma 18-65 yaş arasındaki kadınların kişilik özelliklerinin travmatik doğum algısına etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Kesitsel tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı tipteki çalışmanın evrenini Türkiye'de yaşayan 18-65 yaş aralığındaki kadınlar, örneklemini ise İstanbul'da yaşayan, Türkçe dilini okuyup anlayabilen ve çalışmaya katılımda gönüllü 300 kadın oluşturdu. Veri toplama aracı olarak "Katılımcı Tanıtım Formu", "Cervantes Kişilik Ölçeği (CKÖ)" ve "Travmatik Doğum Algısı Ölçeği (TDAÖ)" kullanıldı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, Tek Yönlü ANOVA testi, bağımsız örneklem t testi, Spearman korelasyon testleri ve çoklu regresyon analizinden yararlanıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmada katılımcıların %17.3'ünün olumsuz doğum deneyimi varken, %77'si başkalarından olumsuz doğum hikayeleri dinlemişti. Olumsuz doğum deneyimi olduğunu ifade eden kadınlar diğerlerine göre daha dışa dönük kişilik özelliğine sahipti. Çalışmada TDAÖ toplam puanı 64.57 ± 31.48 idi. CKÖ alt boyut puanları; dışa/içe dönük olma 17.06 ± 3.51, duygusal denge 17.27 ± 5.51 ve tutarlı/tutarsız olma 17.00 ± 4.33 bulundu. Kişilik ölçeği alt boyutlarından duygusal denge alt boyutu ile tutarlı/tutarsız olma alt boyutu arasında pozitif yönde zayıf derecede anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu belirlendi. Bu analize göre CKÖ alt boyutlarından "duygusal denge" alt boyutundaki toplam %38.6'lık değişim, travmatik doğum algısı düzeyini artırmada etkili bulundu. Sonuç: Kadının kişilik özellikleri travmatik doğum algısını etkilemektedir. Travmatik doğum algısı yüksek olan kadınların kişilik özelliklerinin incelenmesi ve elde edilen sonuçların bakım ve tedavi süreçlerinde dikkate alınması önerilmektedir.

<span>Among the interventions implemented to curb maternal mortality in the Philippines, service delivery networks (SDNs) have been one of the most important. However, due to their recent implementation, frameworks to assess the quality of care they provide have not yet been established. To address this need, we had formulated the Integrated Patient-Centered Health Service Framework and used it to explore the satisfaction of mothers who gave birth in select facilities Legazpi City Philippines. We conducted key-informant interviews with 14 mothers. We found out that they were satisfied with the quality of care during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and post-partum; however, the quality of care during labor and delivery, adherence to referral protocols, and respect for patient‟s autonomy can still be improved. The framework should be used by program managers to have a qualitative measure of quality of care provided by SDNs, as well as to ensure that referral protocols were implemented.</span>

Medical education's treatment of obstetric‐related anatomy exemplifies historical sex bias in medical curricula. Foundational obstetric and midwifery textbooks teach that clinical pelvimetry and the Caldwell–Moloy classification system are used to assess the pelvic capacity of a pregnant patient. We describe the history of these techniques—ostensibly developed to manage arrested labors—and offer the following criticisms. The sample on which these techniques were developed betrays the bias of the authors and does not represent the sample needed to address their interest in obstetric outcomes. Caldwell and Moloy wrote as though the size and shape of the bony pelvis are the primary causes of “difficult birth”; today we know differently, yet books still present their work as relevant. The human obstetric pelvis varies in complex ways that are healthy and normal such that neither individual clinical pelvimetric dimensions nor the artificial typologies developed from these measurements can be clearly correlated with obstetric outcomes. We critique the continued inclusion of clinical pelvimetry and the Caldwell–Moloy classification system in biomedical curricula for the racism that was inherent in the development of these techniques and that has clinical consequences today. We call for textbooks, curricula, and clinical practices to abandon these outdated, racist techniques. In their place, we call for a truly evidence‐based practice of obstetrics and midwifery, one based on an understanding of the complexity and variability of the physiology of pregnancy and birth. Instead of using false typologies that lack evidence, this change would empower both pregnant people and practitioners.
