Abstract:Interspersed between the chapters are short journal entries that offer insight into the author's research process. In addition to highlighting the emotional and mental tax of conducting research on racial violence, the journal entries provide an understanding into how the book is grounded in the author's background as a scholar born and raised in Afro-Latiné religions in the United States.
