The Journal Club (JC) pedagogical strategy has been used during clinical nursing education, with the aim of promoting in students the development of skills in the synthesis and transfer of scientific evidence, as well as critical and reflective thinking. On the other hand, it allows for collaborative learning between students and nurses at the care unit where clinical teaching takes place, assuming that it contributes to the improvement of evidence-based nursing care. As a strategy that culminates in the sharing of evidence, in an environment that can be formal or informal, face-to-face or virtual, integrated into the care unit or open to the educational community, it facilitates that new knowledge is discussed among all participants and contributes to the its dissemination. The aim was thus to find out how a group of students of the Degree in Nursing at the Nursing School of Coimbra describe their experience with the JC, during clinical teaching in Primary/Differentiated Health Care in the Health Nursing Area. Maternal. For data collection, a questionnaire with open questions was used, which was completed by the students at the end of the experience. It stands out from the results that the experience was considered innovative and rich in learning. The moments of sharing evidence, debate and critical reflection, involving the participation of professors and nurses, were considered very positive. Mentioned negative aspects, related to the organization of evidence sharing. Deepening knowledge on a specific topic relevant to the area of clinical teaching, the opportunity to train research in databases, analyze and synthesize science, learn to reflect critically, were advantages mentioned for learning.

Humanizing intensive nursing care for people with COVID-19

Objective: to understand the impact of music on the intensive care for COVID-19 as an instrument to humanize assistance from the perspective of nurses who work on assistance. Methods: qualitative study carried out with seven intensive care nurses working in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit of a public state hospital. Sample reached through theoretical saturation. Data were collected using interviews through the on-line application WhatsApp, guided by a semi-structured guide. Results: the following discursive categories emerged: Feelings of health professionals and humanized actions in intensive care; Music therapy to provide integral care for people with COVID-19 in the score of intensive care; Living in the moment; Music therapy as an instrument for spirituality in the intensive care environment. Conclusion: the nursing intensive care did not only carry out a biological treatment, but considered all aspects of the human being, using to do so humanization by music.

O Journal Club é uma estratégia de estudo que permite a atualização no ensino de Biologia, Medicina e áreas afins, assim como a melhoria nas habilidades de avaliação crítica. Existem vários relatos de seu uso em instituições de ensino e pesquisa de todo o mundo, mas poucos são encontrados na literatura com foco na educação e na percepção do participante. O objetivo do presente estudo foi descrever e avaliar a experiência do Journal Club do Grupo de Pesquisa Epidemiologia das Doenças Infecciosas e Parasitárias (EPIDIP) do Centro de Estudos Superiores de Lago da Pedra da Universidade Estadual do Maranhão (CESLAP/UEMA). Trata-se de um relato de experiência e pesquisa de satisfação dos estudantes de graduação participantes do grupo, por meio de questionário anônimo autoaplicável. Dezesseis graduandos responderam ao questionário. A maioria dos estudantes avaliou como positiva sua experiência no Journal Club, sobretudo aqueles que já ministraram palestras. A utilização de um Journal Club faz-se presente em diversas áreas do meio acadêmico, principalmente pelos estudantes da área da saúde, em especial a medicina e enfermagem para a validação da informação dos estudos científicos. Em meio à pandemia de COVID-19, a adoção do Journal Club do EPIDIP como ferramenta de ensino-aprendizagem, com a finalidade de capacitar e desenvolver competências, habilidades e análises críticas para os acadêmicos que o compõem, tem sido uma estratégia satisfatória no ensino de Epidemiologia e Parasitologia.
