Jominy End Quench Test of Martensitic Stainless Steel X30Cr13

Abstract: In this study, the influence of thermal treatments on the properties of the martensitic stainless steel X30Cr13 (EN 10088-3: 1.4028) were investigated. These steels are characterized by a high hardness as well as corrosion resistance and can be specifically adjusted by heat treatment. In particular, the austenitizing temperature ϑA and cooling rate T˙ affect the hardness and corrosion properties of martensitic stainless steels. In order to investigate these influences, the Jominy end quench tests were performe… Show more

“…The other tools are dimensioned based on the general functional scheme of the tool given in figure 7. In the work, the dimensioning of each plate of the tool will be given only in general form [6,17]. The construction of the dies, their quality, and die life are highly significant aspects of total manufacturing operations, including the quality of the parts produced [16,17,21].…”

“…Jominy hardenability simulation has proven to be a valuable tool in the design of these Q&P alloys. Landgraf et al[149] looked at the influence of thermal treatments on the properties of martensitic steel X30Cr13 using JMatPro simulations to model the phase formation at different temperatures and Jominy hardenability simulations against experimental data. Landgraf et al found the use of JMatPro key in reducing the number of experiments and suitable to find optimum processing windows.…”
