Joint Wireless Information and Energy Transfer with Reduced Feedback in MIMO Interference Channels

Abstract: Abstract-To determine the transmission strategy for the joint wireless information and energy transfer (JWIET) in the MIMO interference channel (IFC), the information access point (IAP) and energy access point (EAP) require the channel state information (CSI) of their associated links to both the information-decoding (ID) mobile stations (MSs) and energyharvesting (EH) MSs (so-called local CSI). In this paper, to reduce the feedback overhead of MSs for the JWIET in twouser MIMO IFC, we propose a Geodesic energ… Show more

“…WIPT was then studied in a frequency-selective AWGN channel under an average power constraint [3]. Since then, WIPT has attracted significant interests in the communication literature with among others MIMO broadcasting [4]- [6], architecture [7], interference channel [8]- [10], broadband Bruno Clerckx is with the EEE department at Imperial College London, London SW7 2AZ, UK (email: b.clerckx@imperial.ac.uk). “…• Channel Estimation: the channel state information (CSI) can be acquired by the BS via the forward-link training together with the reverse-link feedback [23]. The channel states are assumed unchanged during a single operating cycle but they vary from one operating cycle to another.…”

“…SWIPT in a two-user and K-user MIMO system have been considered in [1] and [2], respectively. [3] has considered SWIPT with partial CSI at the transmitter in MIMO IFC. SWIPT in a multi-user MISO IFC has been discussed in [4].…”

“…In this paper, we leverage our past results on SWIPT in MIMO IFC [1]- [3] to address SWIPT in SISO-OFDM IFC. To the best of the authors' knowledge, SWIPT for an OFDM interference channel has not been addressed yet.…”
