Joint Power Allocation and Link Selection for Multi-Carrier Buffer Aided Relay Network

Abstract: In this paper, we present a joint power allocation and adaptive link selection protocol for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based network consists of one source node i.e., base station (BS), one destination node i.e., (MU) and a buffer aided decode and forward (DF) relay node. Our objective is to maximize the average throughput of the system via power loading over different subcarriers at source and relay nodes. A separate power budget is assumed at each transmitting node to make the syste… Show more

“…We can now deduct that blockchain technology introduces a whole new design paradigm for next-generation applications that, together with a distributed and shared public/private ledger and a collective consensus mechanism, build trust, transparency, and accountability in a system. Thus, many different avenues have been already identified to benefit from its adoption such as financial institutions, smart power grids and cities, supply chain management frameworks, and cyber-physical systems [36][37][38]. Besides simplifying business processes and providing transparency in system operations, its integration with IIoT has recently been greatly discussed among the research community.…”

“…where the last constraint in (30) ensures that the fraction power of CU i on SC m should be less than or equal to 0.5. The problem (P5) is a standard convex optimization problem and dual method can be employed to obtain the efficient solution [11]. The corresponding dual problem is…”

“…Furthermore, different users sharing the same system resources can cause inter-user interference [10]. To overcome these limitations, the network resources need to be efficiently utilized-the process is called optimal resource allocation [11].…”

“…Mobile communication networks are moving toward lower energy consumption, greater resource utilization, and higher network capacity. In order to meet the above requirements, device-to-device (D2D) communication technology has emerged [1][2][3][4][5]. Traditional cellular network users need to forward data through the base station to communicate, and D2D users can perform direct communication at close range.…”
