Since the first national strategy (2009) aimed at eliminating discrimination against women in all areas in the domain of public institutions, including education, publishing houses which publish school textbooks have started to implement gendersensitive language into their materials. Today, more than ten years later, gender-sensitive language practice has already been introduced into many textbooks for elementary and secondary schools. However, it still has not been approved by the Board for Standardization of the Serbian Language. This paper presents examples of the use of gender-sensitive language collected from 13 elementary school textbooks published in the period 2019-2022 and appproved by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. Based on those examples, which largely implemented the first proposals for the use of gender-sensitive language formulated by Svenka Savić (Savić et al, 2010), it is possible to create new recommendations for a more consistent use of language that would correspond to the requirements of legal regulations in the field of gender equality as well as to the language norm.

The paper analyses the representation and occurrence of topics about heritage in Croatian Science textbooks for the 4th-grade primary school, published by the leading Croatian textbook publishers and approved by the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education. The conducted research aimed to determine the representation and appearance of heritage topics in the mentioned textbooks and, based on the results, to provide guidelines for further activities and necessary research to improve the quality of teaching heritage content in the lower grades of primary school. It was established that the greatest attention was paid to tangible cultural heritage, and the least to intangible cultural heritage. It would be good to include more tasks in the textbooks that would encourage the observation of cause-and-effect relationships in the actions of people on natural and cultural heritage and encourage students to reflect on concrete procedures for preserving and protecting the same. Considering teachers' freedom in accessing and teaching certain teaching contents, which the new curriculum of Science and curriculum of cross-curricular topics provide, the question of access and competence of teachers in teaching heritage topics in class is opened.

The paper aims to examine the frequency of application of language games and activities in the function of developing phonological and phonemic awareness in preschool children. It examined how children's stay in preschool affects the development of their speech. The opinions of forty-six educators on this issue were analyzed using a survey. The main conclusion of the research is that educators often apply language games and activities to develop phonological and phonemic awareness in preschool children.
