“…Zhang, Strom, and Morsing (1992) introduced the concept of "jet-drop-distance", which describes the horizontal distance from the slotopenings to the location where the incoming cold air reaches the AOZ. Zhang, Morsing, and Strom (1996) and Zhang and Strom (1999) suggested the "jet-drop-distance model" could establish a technical methodology to control the jet trajectory using experimental variables including the Archimedes number and the corrected Archimedes number from a laboratory-scaled chamber experiment. The study of Zhang et al (1996) showed that the flow pattern of incoming air could be affected by various physical parameters, such as the thermal energy of the incoming air mass, the pressure difference in the vicinity of the slot openings, the internal air temperature and the aerodynamic properties of the slot openings.…”

“…The study of Zhang et al (1996) showed that the flow pattern of incoming air could be affected by various physical parameters, such as the thermal energy of the incoming air mass, the pressure difference in the vicinity of the slot openings, the internal air temperature and the aerodynamic properties of the slot openings. They proposed two non-linear regression equations that explained the relationship between the jet-drop-distance and the jet-drop-factor and the corrected Archimedes number (Zhang et al, 1996;Zhang & Strom, 1999).…”
