Nemrut-Süphan proposed geopark area is located in Eastern Anatolia, Bitlis Province, between the Bitlis City Center and Tatvan-Ahlat-Adilcevaz Villages which covers total area of 5.300 km 2 . Two strato-volcanos of Turkey, the Nemrut (2.948 meters) and Süphan (4.058) mountains, are located in this area. The southern part of the area consists of metamorphic rocks, which are the oldest strata of Turkey. The biggest soda lake of the World, Lake Van, consists of the eastern side, of the geopark area. Ophiolitic rocks also exist in this area, representing the remnants of the ancient Neotethys Ocean. Total of 44 geosites were proposed and determined in the geopark area, most of them are located on five proposed georoutes. These proposed geosites and several cultural heritage elements are amalgamated within the scope of the geopark management system. This plan also includes the geoconservation table of these proposed geosites. This area is ready for announcing as a second "International Geopark" (UNESCO) of Turkey in terms of unique geodiversity, cultural heritages, biodiversity and different kinds of summer and winter outdoor activity potentials in the light of the performed inventory studies.

In recent years, when diversification in tourism has gained a momentum, geological formations have begun to take place among countries' tourism values. Geological formations are not only geographical elements but also they are considered in the context of concrete cultural heritage and tourist attractions of a country and they constitute the basis for geo-tourism. In this study, Kula Burn Country (Katakekaumene), located in Manisa, Turkey, is evaluated from the standpoint of its tourism values. The region is important as a potential destination, close to Izmir, as well as being an important geological area where young volcanoes take place. Qualitative research technique was used in the study. Data were collected with document analysis and field survey method. Interviewing and observation techniques were used in field research. The written texts obtained were evaluated with content analysis. Results show that the Kula-Burns country needs physical and legal protection, trained personnel, financial resources, visitor sensitivity and local awareness for sustaining its inheritance and momentum in tourism. In addition, the Burned Country has been planned as a UNESCO GGN member (Global Geo-Park Geopark Network) geo-park. If the eliminated shortcomings are overcome, it is expected that Burned Country can complete the relevant geo-park membership criteria and retain the right to use its green certificate while developing as a tourist destination simultaneously.

Dereiçi travertines famous for their Pamukkale-like conveyors are located to the south of the Başkale district of Van. The travertines are located after the 30th km of Başkale -Hakkâri highway and after 12 km by the road separating to the west. In this study, the morphological analyzes of travertines bearing geological heritages and their evaluation as "geo-tourism" were investigated. The oldest travertines in the region are the Layer-Type Traverteners at the base. On the Layer Type Travertines are the shear cracks developed in the K 10 B and K 40 D directions due to regional compressions and the Ridge Type Travertines formed by the waters from this crack. Finally, the waters draining down the slope from the cracks opening in the northeastern slope of the Ridge Type Travertines form the old and current Terrace Type Travertines.There are also small-sized Cave Type Travertines in the void spaces of various sizes developed in back-type travertines. When considered in potential of geoheritage, the region draws attention with two Ridge Type Travertines, a traverten bridge, some non-active terraced travertine, and a waterfall along a shear crack.In addition, the appearance of the natural walls formed by the downwind water due to the inclination of the Ridge Type Travertines along the northeast patch is also worth seeing. Dereiçi Travertines is one of the most important regions to be evaluated and protected from the perspective of geoheritage. However, these geological assets have not been found to be interesting, but at the same time, they have recently become the targets of the managerships looking for marble industry. Moreover, because of the increasingly decreasing hydrothermal waters coming out of the cracks, some of these terraces are dried up and some of them are coming to the stage of drying.The measures to be taken in order to continue natural formation are discussed in this article.
