This study examines the affixation of the Minangkabau language in the Mandu Paja poem to describe its usage. TTranscribing the Mandu Paja poem record using a qualitative descriptive approach yields the data. Data collection involves listening to the language usage in the poem and utilizing the note-taking technique. Data analysis employs the distribution method, and the techniques used in this study include segmenting immediate constituents technique. The findings reveal (1) the use of prefixes such as di-, ba-(with an allomorph bar-), sa-, maN-, ta-(with an allomorph tar-), ka-; (2) the use of suffixes, including -an, -kan; (3) the use of combined prefixes and suffixes, such as di-kan, ma-kan, di-i. The formation of words includes derivatives and inflections. Funding from the Competitive Grant of Dikti 2015 supports this research.

The objective of this research is to describe the assimilation process in the Toba Batak language, specifically as it is spoken in Pintu Padang Village, located in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Assimilation is a type of sound change that is not the same to become the same or almost the same. This process can occur between segments in a word and between components in compound words. So, it is essential to formalize it by describing the sound features that undergo these changes. The data was gathered through observation and interviews. Listening to Batak Angkola speakers communicate with one another allowed for observations. Simultaneously, interviews were conducted by directly interviewing informants who were chosen based on particular criteria. Three individuals were interviewed using a structured interview format. In addition, a set of unstructured interviews was carried out with several other speakers. For this purpose, a generative phonology approach is used. Data analysis was carried out by the distributional method with the segmenting immediate constituents technique. After that, the distinctive features of the sound are explained. The results of this research show that assimilation took place in nasal consonants [m], [n], and [ŋ], which met the consonants [k], [p], [s], [t], [l], and [c]. The sounds [m], [n], and [ŋ] appear in the forms [p], [t] and [k], respectively. Then, the sound [n] appears in the form [l] and [c] when it meets the sounds [l] and [c] too. Generally, it can be inferred that sound modifications in the form of assimilation are homorganic.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk morfologi proses afiksasi berupa prefiks, sufiks, dan konfiks pada teks narasi siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Sidigede, Kecamatan Welahan, Kabupaten Jepara. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskripsi kualitatif dan metode analisis isi yaitu mendeskripsikan hasil analisis dan kajian terhadap teks narasi yang dibuat oleh siswa. Data yang diperoleh berdasarkan objek kajian meliputi proses morfologi afiksasi dalam bacaan ini ada 3 macam diantaranya, (1) prefiks yaitu afiks yang muncul di awal, (2) sufiks yaitu afiks yang muncul di awal akhiran, dan (3) konfiks, yaitu afiks yang muncul di awal dan satu di akhir kata dasar. Pada hasil analisis ditemukan penggunaan afiksasi sebanyak 159 yang terdiri dari prefiks berjumlah 133, sufiks berjumlah 20, dan konfiks berjumlah 6.
