Abstract: L'itinéraire scientifique de Jean Aubouin s'inscrit sur plusieurs décennies depuis 1950. Différentes périodes s'individualisent, mais la cohérence de la démarche concernant la connaissance des chaînes de montagnes et des processus orogéniques apparaît nettement.
