“…Although the European and American guidelines limit prophylactic antibiotics to only these high‐risk patients, 18 JCS guideline gives Class IIa recommendation even to moderate‐risk groups, including patients with congenital heart diseases, acquired valvular heart diseases, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, and mitral valve prolapse with valve regurgitation. Prophylactic antibiotics are also recommended for patients with implanted medical devices such as a permanent pacemaker and defibrillator, or long‐term placement of a central venous line (Class IIb) 25 (Table 1). Table 2 shows the standard prophylactic administration of antibiotics for these dental procedures.…”
