JCPDS-ICDD Research Associateship (cooperative program with NBS/NIST)

Abstract: The Research Associateship program of the Joint Committee on Powder Diffraction-International Centre for Diffraction Data (JCPDS-ICDD, now known as the ICDD) at NBS/NIST was a long standing (over 35 years) successful industry-government cooperation. The main mission of the Associateship was to publish high quality x-ray reference patterns to be included in the Powder Diffraction File (PDF). The PDF is a continuing compilation of patterns gathered from many sources, compiled and published by the ICDD. As a resu… Show more

“…In the case of samples Q1-i1, Q1-i2, and Q4-i4, the intensity peak ratios Ag(200)/Ag(111) are 0.5, 0.40, and 0.42, respectively. These values are very close to the corresponding Ag STD [30] ratio of 0.4. In the case of the F1-i1 sample, it is observed that the intensity peak ratio Ag(200)/Ag(111) is almost two times greater than the Ag STD; it is also observed that this sample shows no peak on the plane Ag(220), compared to the rest of the samples.…”

“…The XRD patterns of the Mg/Al(x) and Ni/Al(x) samples revealed that the latter were all crystalline (S4 †) and identified as LDHs (JCPDS 41-1428). 36 The lattice a parameter calculated from the position of the (110) peaks (Fig. S4 †) at about 60°(2θ) (a = 2 × d 110 ) decreased in both series of LDH when the M 2+ /Al 3+ molar ratio decreased (Table S5 †).…”
