Jamming-resilient algorithm for underwater cognitive acoustic networks

Abstract: Due to the limit spectrum resource in the underwater acoustic networks, underwater cognitive acoustic communication is a promising technique. The channel sharing mechanism in cognitive networks can improve the communication capacity efficiently. Jamming attack is a common deny of service attack in cognitive networks. In the underwater cognitive acoustic networks, the anti-jamming problem is quite different from cognitive radio networks. It calls for an effective antijamming strategy in the cognitive acoustic c… Show more

“…To cope with jamming, for example, RACUN, Wang et al (2017) propose an online learning anti-jamming algorithm called a multiarmed bandit (MAB)-based acoustic channel access algorithm to achieve jamming-resilient acoustic communication. It implements a hidden Markov model (HMM), based on which the potential reward is estimated, along with an appropriate probability that the channel is jammed.…”

“…Unfortunately, for some kind of UWSNs, these spread-spectrum techniques are not suitable. In [ 21 ], a multi-armed bandit–based acoustic channel access algorithm is proposed to achieve the jamming-resilient cognitive acoustic communication. In [ 22 ], the author resorted to jamming-resilient techniques such as multipath transmissions.…”
