“…It is also expressed by B lymphocytes isolated from the different lymphoid compartments. The molecule is up-regulated on the cell surface of activated B-lymphocytes, and is found in the cytoplasm of precursor B-cells (pro-B and pre-B lymphocytes) [8]. Sharing some general steps of the mechanistic functioning of the T cell receptor (TCR), the activation of B lymphocytes requires tight coordination, which results from the actions of multiple activating and inhibitory surface receptors.…”

“…In the INO-VATE study, a cutoff value of 90% positivity on ALL cells was not a significant determinant of InO response (79.2% versus 82.4%) [ 17 ]. However, both the percentage of positivity and the intensity of expression for CD22 antigen appear to be heterogeneous, ranging from 1% to 99% as a percentage of positive blasts, and from dim to very strong expression, as determined by the antigen expression level in single blast cells [ 24 , 25 ]. The implication of these findings may be of clinical value and could guide MRD detection [ 26 ], since it is known that immune-targeted therapies such as InO induce a rapid receptor down-modulation, forcing the flow cytometry operator to use alternative strategies to detect MRD [ 27 ].…”

“…However, with the advent of better diagnostic techniques, the prevalence appears to be increasing. (Lanza, 2018; Rahman et al, 2022; Sun et al, 2017) It may not replace the histopathological examination, but is an important methodology which can easily and confidently provide information about the co‐ expression of different antigens and clonality assessment in NHL, especially a B cell NHL.…”
