Isostructural cocrystals of metaxalone with improved dissolution characteristics

Abstract: Metaxalone forms isostructural cocrystals with nicotinamide and salicylamide that offer a solubility advantage compared to the native drug. A drug–drug homosynthon is retained in all the cocrystal structures.
