Isostreptazolin and Sannaphenol, Two New Metabolites from Streptomyces sannanensis

Abstract: Two new compounds, isostreptazolin (1) and sannaphenol (2), were isolated from the culture broth of Streptomyces sannanensis and their structures elucidated on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR as well as MS, IR and UV spectroscopic data analysis. The cytotoxic activity of 1 and 2 were evaluated. Both compounds were inactive against H460 and HeLa cell lines at 100 μM.

“…The cytotoxicities of 1 – 8 were evaluated against four human carcinoma cell lines, including a human gastric carcinoma cell line (BGC-823), a human large-cell lung carcinoma cell line (H460), a human prostate cancer cell line (PC-3) and a human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line (SMMC-7721) in an MTT assay as previously reported [24]. The IC 50 value was defined as a 50% reduction of absorbance from the control assay.…”

“…The cytotoxic effects of compounds 1 and 2 against human breast cancer cell line MCF‐7 and human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line SMMC‐7721 were evaluated using the MTT method . None of the two compounds showed obvious cytotoxic activity at 100 µg/ml.…”

“…The isolated compounds 1-11 were evaluated for their cytotoxic activities against four human carcinoma cell lines, a human gastric carcinoma cell line (BGC-823), a human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line (SMMC-7721), a human carcinoma cell line (Ichikawa), and a human kidney cancer cell line (7860) in an MTT assay as previously reported. 26 IC 50 value was dened as a 50% reduction of absorbance from the control assay. Adriamycin was assayed as a positive control.…”
