Isolation, Identification, Antibacterial activity and Docking of Fatty acid and Fatty alcohol from Rumex dentatus Leaf Extract

Abstract: Rumex dentatus is a traditional medicinal plant that has been used in the treatment of anti-dermatitis, anti-inflammatory, antitumour, diarrhoea, eczema, constipation, and locally known Toothed dock. This article describes the isolation of compounds from CH3OH extract of Rumex dentatus leaf. The structures of the isolated compounds were identified by spectroscopic analysis, such as 1 H-NMR, 13 C-NMR, DEPT-135, COSY, HMBC, and HSQC. The extract and compounds were evaluated for antibacterial activity. The isolat… Show more

“…396.6899 equivalent to a fatty acid; hexacosanoic acid (C26H52O2). These spectral data were in agreement with Nyigo et al, 2022;Rehan et al, 2020;Yamamoto et al, 2015). Based to these spectral and literature information, compound G4 was assigned to be hexacosanoic acid (Figure 1) which is also known as cerotic acid.…”

“…is traditional Chinese medicine not only treats the Netherland dwarf fungal skin disease, but also has the functions of inhibiting bacteria and relieving itching, clearing away heat and toxic substances, strengthening the spleen and stomach, improving the immunity, and promoting the recovery of rabbit hair. More advantages include easy availability of components, scientific compatibility, simple manufacture, low cost, quick effect, no toxicity or side effects, no easy recurrence, and a high cure rate (>85%) [45,49,76]. 7.5.…”
