“…Strong induction of gene expression of members of this gene family, together with well-known detoxification genes such as cytochrome P450 or glutathione-S-transferase, by xenobiotics such as phenobarbital and piperonyl butoxide has also been found in D. melanogaster (King-Jones et al, 2006;Willoughby et al, 2007). One of the early genes induced by juvenile hormone in the midgut of larval pine engraver beetle I. pini is a member of this gene family (Bearfield et al, 2008). In Caenorhabditis elegans, the transcriptional coregulator MDT-15 regulates genes implicated in metabolic responses to ingested food including specific detoxicative genes and a member of the DUF227 family.…”

“…JhI-26 is an EcKL in Drosophila melanogaster (Diptera) that responds to juvenile hormone (JH) signalling (Dubrovsky et al 2000) and may play a role in Wolbachia-mediated cytoplasmic incompatibility (Liu et al 2014). Ipi10G08 (Genbank: AY875646.1) is a male-biased EcKL in the pine engraver beetle Ips pini (Coleoptera) that is also strongly inducible by JH (Bearfield et al 2008). Lastly, CHKov1 and CHKov2 are EcKLs in D. melanogaster implicated in resistance to sigma virus infection through an unknown molecular mechanism (Magwire et al 2011(Magwire et al , 2012Duxbury et al 2019).…”
