“…Wheat seedlings inoculated with a Paenibacillus ehimensis strain from Lonicera japonica showed marked increases in growth associated with greater photosynthetic carbon uptake and light use efficiency (Zhao et al, 2015). Furthermore, multiple other benefits on the growth of plants that are attributed to endophytes include modification of root morphology, osmotic adjustment, phosphate siderophore production improvement, solubilization activity enhancement, and stomatal regulation (Compant et al, 2005;Chen et al, 2016;Zhu, 2019). These plant growthpromotive bacterial endophytes are presently used for forest regeneration and contaminated soil phytoremediation (Ryan et al, 2008;Huang et al, 2020).…”

“…Steady tissue hydration enhances drought tolerance in plants. Zhu (2019) reported that bacterial endophytes improve the process of imbibition increasing RWC significantly that helps the host plant to tolerate osmotic stress. In addition, increasing LDMC in the treatment plants show that the endophyte played a greater role in increasing the dry mass of the leaf and the maximum water retained since, LDMC largely depends on these two factors ( Garnier et al., 2001 ).…”

“…Ammodendron bifolium is a desert deciduous shrub of the genus Ammodendron in the Fabaceae family and is a preferred tree species for wind prevention and sand fixation [39]. A. bifolium is only distributed in China in the Takelmohuur Desert in Huocheng County, Ili, Xinjiang, and is endangered [40]. The microbial community present in the roots of A. bifolium, as a legume, significantly contributes to its adaptation in the unique desert environment.…”
