Advances in newer techniques for high sensitivity sequence analysis of polypeptides coupled with improvements in solid phase synthesis procedures have led to systematic analyses of structure‐activity relations in parathyroid hormone. Twenty‐five amino acids at the amino terminus of the 84 amino acid peptide suffice for biological expression of hormonal actions on kidney and bone in vivo and in vitro.
