Isolation and Assessment of Plant Growth Promoting Activity of Siderophore ProducingPseudomonas fluorescensin Crops

Abstract: The Pseudomonas fluorescens a major Rhizobacteria encourage the plant growth through producing yellowish green fluroscent siderophore involve in high affinity transport of iron into the cell. The P. fluorescens isolates grow in iron deficient media because of production capacity of siderophore depends on iron content. Fifty nine Pseudomonas fluorescens were isolated in King's B media under 260 nm wavelengths from the rhizosphere and non-rhizospheric soil of cave, forest, fellow land and agriculture field in Ch… Show more

“…Siderophore-mediated iron uptake in plants is a major benefit imparted by PGPRs (Braud et al, 2006;Mandal and Kotasthane, 2014). Siderophores are grouped into three principal categories based on their functional groups which are hydroxamates, catecholate, and carboxylates (Suarez et al, 2019;Kramer et al, 2020).…”

“…The provision of iron to plants through soil bacteria is more important when the plants are exposed to an environmental stress such as heavy metal pollution. In these cases, siderophores help to get rid of the stresses imposed on plants by high soil levels of heavy metals (Mandal and Kotasthane, 2014). The continuous use of fungicides leads to development of fungal resistant strains transforming fungicides ineffective.…”
