Abstract:The need for protecting the cryogenic infrastructure during a fault in high-temperature superconducting (HTS) power distribution systems of electric transport platforms is highlighted. A dual grounding scheme with an isolator between the electrical and cryogen flow paths of HTS power cables is needed.
