“…Only 12 of these patients had a palmar dislocation (Table 1) [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19]; in the remainder the trapezoid was dorsally dislocated. Palmar dislocation was associated with other fractures or dislocations of the wrist in eight patients and observed as an isolated injury in four patients (exclusive of proximal migration of the second metacarpal, which is a typical consequence of the trapezoid dislocation) [2,3,5,11]. We present a case of palmar dislocation of the trapezoid associated with dorsal subluxation of the second metacarpal, radial migration of the third and fourth metacarpals, and an additional dorsal avulsion fracture of the triquetrum.…”
