“…20,21 Xanthones and avonoids have been considered to be the two major classes of phytochemicals in C. tricuspidata. For example, prenylated xanthones and avonoids were found to be the most important and abundant constituents in its leaves and root bark with regard to their notable anti-inammatory, 22,23 antitumor, 16,24 hepatoprotective, 25,26 neuroprotective, 27,28 and anticoagulant 29 activities; hydroxybenzyl avonoid glycosides from the stem bark were reported to be promising natural antioxidant and antitumor agents; 30 and prenylated isoavonoids and benzylated avonoids from the fruits displayed potential anti-inammatory 31 and antioxidant 32 activities.
