Iso Points in Electrochemistry. Classification and Verification by Experiment and Theory

Abstract

The experimental examples of occurrence of isoalpha points (iap) in electroreduction of Cu2+, Tl+, Zn2+ in the presence of 1,3‐dimethyl‐2‐thiourea have been presented. The theoretical ECE and EE model examples of iap and isopotential point (ipp) as well as mixed iap/ipp isopoints are discussed in the context of their similarities and differences. Novel extended interpretation of ipp points in electrochemistry, based on concentration profiles approach, was also introduced.
