Islanded Wind Farm Microgrid Stability Control using Synchronverter Algorithm

Abstract: Indonesia is an archipelagic country with many remote islands. Supplying electricity is difficult in some remote islands in Indonesia, such as Adaut regency of west Maluku. One solution to solve this electricity supply problem is the creation of a microgrid system. However, the application of renewable energy on microgrids can lead to several technical challenges, such as frequency disturbances and voltage instability. Therefore, a control algorithm that can maintain the system stability is required. One recen… Show more

“…MGs can operate in two modes: isolated mode and grid-connected mode [5,6]. In the isolated mode of MGs, it is often necessary to implement advanced control techniques in order to handle sudden variations in load as well as ensure frequency regulation and stable performance [7,8]. Furthermore, an energy storage system (ESS) is a crucial component of MGs, helping to minimize frequency variations and serving as a reserve storage or buffer zone in response to fluctuations in load [9,10].…”

“…Indonesia is facing the challenge of rising energy demand and the need for a smooth transition to renewable energy sources. To address this, a study proposes the implementation of a Database Management System (DBMS) based on Intelligent Computing Internet of Things (IoT) specifically designed for renewable energy management in Indonesia [9], [10]. The existing database management systems may lack the agility and intelligence required to optimize the utilization of renewable energy [11].…”
