Năng lượng tái tạo bao gồm năng lượng mặt trời mang lại nhiều lợi ích trong việc giảm tỷ trọng năng lượng hóa thạch đang dần cạn kiệt, bảo vệ tài nguyên và môi trường không khí. Tuy nhiên, sự thâm nhập ở mức cao của nguồn năng lượng mặt trời đem lại thách thức cho việc vận hành và ổn định tần số hệ thống bởi tính không ổn định do phụ thuộc các yếu tố thời tiết cũng như việc vận hành không tham gia vào quá trình hỗ trợ quán tính của chính bản thân nguồn năng lượng này. Có nhiều phương pháp hỗ trợ tần số được áp dụng, hai trong số đó được đề xuất: Sử dụng hệ thống lưu trữ Pin và Vận hành giảm tải -Deloading control. Bằng cách tạo ra thêm lượng công suất dự trữ để huy động kịp thời trong trường hợp mất cân bằng công suất tác dụng, từ đó giúp ổn định được tần số. Hai phương pháp đã đáp ứng được khả năng hỗ trợ tần số dựa trên đánh giá và mô phỏng thông qua phần mềm Matlab/Simulink.
