In this study, the difficulties experienced by female kitchen workers in their profession due to their gender were examined. In the research, which specifically questioned sexual harassment and glass ceiling syndrome in the workplace, a phenomenological approach was adopted and a qualitative research method was preferred. In this context, various questions examining the obstacles in question were asked to female employees employed in the kitchen departments of three different four- and five-star accommodation establishments operating in Kuşadası. The findings indicate that women are partially hindered due to their gender. In addition, three of the participants stated that they were harassed in various ways (verbal or sexual), and one of them stated that he witnessed it in some way, even though he was not harassed. In line with the results obtained from the interviews conducted with nine participants, various inferences were made and various suggestions were presented to sector representatives and senior managers.

Çalışmak ve gelir elde etmek, erkekler için olduğu kadar kadınlar için de temel insan haklarındandır. Ancak, kadınlar işe giriş aşamasından başlayarak erkeklere nazaran dezavantajlı durumda olmakta ve çalışma hayatlarında çeşitli sorunlara maruz kalmaktadırlar. Kadınlar bir yandan fırsat eşitsizliği, toplumsal cinsiyete dayalı ayrımcılık, psikolojik ve cinsel taciz gibi sorunlar ile mücadele ederken aynı zamanda da çalışma hayatı ile aile hayatını dengede yürütmeye çalışmakta ve ev içi sorumluluklarını üstlenmektedir.Bu araştırma, Kayseri İli Melikgazi İlçesi'nde devlet okullarında görev yapan 510 kadın öğretmen üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Katılımcılara yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ile anket uygulanmıştır. Sonuçlar SPSS programında analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizleri sonucunda, kadınların çalışma ve aile yaşamında karşılaştıkları sorunlar somutlaştırılmış ve bu sorunların araştırmaya katılan kadınların demografik özelliklerine göre farklılıkları tespit edilmiştir.Araştırma sonucunda ulaşılan sonuçlara göre çalışan kadınların işlerinden memnun oldukları ve çalışmayı sevdikleri ancak, temel sorunlarının iş-aile dengesini kurmak olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışan kadınların iş-aile dengesini kurmakta zorlanmalarının, evdeki sorumluluklarının fazla olmasından kaynaklandığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca, araştırma sonucunda çalışan kadınların cinsiyet ayrımcılığıyla ilgili sorunları, aile hayatıyla ilgili sorunları ve ekonomik sorunları saptanmış ancak, tacizle ilgili sorunları hakkında herhangi bir sonuca ve kadınların bu konudaki düşüncelerine ulaşılamamıştır.

Sexual harassment against women is one of the important social problems addressed all over the world. It is a fact that has existed for hundreds of years, although the place and types of it change. Harassment has been transferred to the digital environment, as everything has become digital with the Internet. It is claimed that women are subjected to harassment while working or looking for a job. To investigate the prevalence of workplace harassment and harassment on online platforms used for professional purposes and its psychological effects on victims, an online nonprobability sampling survey on 245 white-collar women aged 20-40 working in the private sector was conducted. The results suggest that the harassment that women are most exposed to is cyber harassment. It has been observed that 73 women out of every hundred have been subjected to harassment on professional digital platforms. In the types of harassment experienced, persistent online dating requests, receiving unwanted romantic messages, sexual jokes and insults are the most common types of harassment. It has been revealed that the psychological and physiological effects of physical abuse are also seen in victims of cyber harassment.
