Abstract: Objectives: The importance of knowing HIV status is a key strategy for HIV response and effective treatment services. “…ARVs have also been shown to induce ROS production and the reduced cellular viability after HIV-1 infection and administration of ARVs could be attributed to this ROS. The ROS produced during HIV-1 infection and ARVs administration can be hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ), singlet oxygen, hydroxyl free radicals or superoxide anions which results in oxidative damage to cellular components or cell death [33].
