Is Ischemia Involved in the Pathogenesis of Murine Cerebral Malaria?

Abstract: Sequestration of parasitized erythrocytes in the central nervous system microcirculation and increased cerebrospinal fluid lactate are prominent features of cerebral malaria (CM), suggesting that sequestration causes mechanical obstruction and ischemia.
