Abstract: <b><i>Background:</i></b> Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a prevalent hemoglobinopathy involving sickled hemoglobin that causes multiorgan disease due to chronic recurrent vaso-occlusion and hemolysis. Fetal hemoglobin (HbF) being present showed reduction in disease severity, owing to which hydroxyurea has gained significant recognition.
