A região nordeste, vem se destacando no setor de exploração agrícola por estar inserida na chamada, última fronteira agrícola e alguns municípios da região sul do Piauí, dentre eles Landri Sales, encontram-se dentro dessa região. Além da exploração realizada por produtores rurais que não usam do manejo adequado do solo podendo causar impactos ao meio ambiente, as atividades agrícolas tem alto o índice de desmatamento e vem aumentando com o uso errôneo devido exploração desenfreada ao meio ambiente. Para tal, objetivou-se com a realização da pesquisa, analisar por meio de mapas temáticos a degradação do solo do município de Landri Sales do estado do Piauí bem como, apontar práticas agrícolas sustentáveis. Para elaboração de ambos os mapas temáticos foram usados arquivos a shapes retirados do site do IBGE e as bases de dados para contemplar a área estudada foram retiradas do site do INPE e IBGE. Constatou-se que entre os anos de 2013 a 2017 as áreas desmatadas estariam em maior índice, entre os anos seguintes até 2021 houve uma redução dessas áreas, devido as políticas públicas. Foram apontadas medidas mitigadoras para atenuar a degradação e consequentemente possibilitará a diminuição dos danos ao meio ambiente.
