<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p> The infrared spectra (200-4000 cm<jats:sup>-1</jats:sup>) of trans- and cis-Pt(NX<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>COO)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> (X = H, D), trans- and cis-PtCl<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(NH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>COOH)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>, trans-PtCl<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(NH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>Et)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>, cis-PtCl<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(NX<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>Et)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>, cis-PtCl<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(NX<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>NXCH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>Et)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> (X = H, D) and cis-PtY<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(NH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>NHCH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>Et)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> (Y = Br, I) including <jats:sup>15</jats:sup>N derivatives have been studied. There is no appreciable change of vibrational frequencies for corresponding cis- and trans- complexes which could be attributed to the trans-influence of different ligands. Due to lower symmetry most of the absorptions of the cis-complexes are split into doublets compared with the trans-compounds.</jats:p>
