IPv6 Stateless Address Autoconfiguration

Abstract: This document specifies the steps a host takes in deciding how to autoconfigure its interfaces in IP version 6. The autoconfiguration process includes creating a link-local address and verifying its uniqueness on a link, determining what information should be autoconfigured (addresses, other information, or both), and in the case of addresses, whether they should be obtained through the stateless mechanism, the stateful mechanism, or both. This document defines the process for generating a link-local address, … Show more

“…Based on this idea, we use the Hash function to construct MANET ID, as shown in formula (3). Each configured node acquires the MANET ID via formula (3). Because the network prefixes and allocation variables of all the configured nodes in MANET are the same, their MANET IDs are equal.…”

“…By the searching function of router in IPv6 the mobile node determines its location [3].Two kinds of packet are defined in the router searching function: router broadcast (option type =133) and router request (option type=134). The router broadcast packet is sendperiodicallyon the lin k road by the IPv6 router, and then the mobile node receives the packet periodically.…”
