The world has now fully transitioned into the computing era, especially with the emergence of Cloud Computing. Technologies like wireless sensor networks and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) are prepared to take on new tasks. A significant amount of data is generated, acquired, and stored to take control of our lives and make them more comfortable and secure. The use of various machine learning techniques and large data processing is made possible by cloud computing technologies. The Internet of Things (IoT) system connects various things, objects, and sensors using a cloud-based universal global neural network. Cloud computing and the Internet of Things are quickly developing services with unique characteristics. With the recent growth of cloud computing and IoT-based smart applications, data production, data integrity, confidentiality, authentication, and verification have become more crucial. Nowadays, every business demands that its data be updated in the cloud to be accessed from anywhere. In this regard, people can easily access the internet on their computers and smartphones in most countries, making online information transmission much simpler and more affordable. The author’s goal in this project is to develop a smart vehicle tracking system that will help universities, colleges, malls, etc. to monitor incoming and outgoing vehicles, within and out of time, and vehicle owners’ details on one website. This project introduces a novel algorithm that delivers real-time information about the vehicles (vehicle in time, out time, current date & owner details) and all the information stored on the cloud so anyone can show all the real-time information. Performance enhancement and cost-effectiveness are the critical factors for most industries. There is a variation in the performance and cost matrices based on the industrial sectors; however, cybersecurity is required to be maintained since most of the 4th industrial revolution (4IR) are based on technology. Internet of Things, IoT, technology is one of the 4IR pillars that support enhancing performance and cost. Like most Internet-based technologies, IoT has some security challenges mostly related to access control and exposed services. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a promising approach that can enhance cybersecurity. This chapter explores industrial IoT (IIoT) from the business view and the security requirements. It also provides a critical analysis of the security challenges faced by IoT systems. Finally, it presents a comparative study of the advisable AI categories to be used in mitigating IoT security challenges.

The term “Internet of Things” (IoT) represents a vast interconnected network comprising ordinary objects enhanced with electronics like sensors, actuators, and wireless connectivity. These augmentations enable seamless communication and data sharing among devices. IoT constitutes an ecosystem of programs, systems, and technologies that operate across diverse communication services. In our rapidly evolving world, cutting‐edge technologies are swiftly gaining prominence. IoT, in particular, strives to proliferate innovative applications, programs, and communication amalgamating the virtual and physical realms. The bedrock of this communication is the machine‐to‐machine communication paradigm. IoT encompasses a spectrum of technologies encompassing smart vehicles, efficient vehicle parking management systems, and roadway‐embedded sensors, culminating in the vision of a “smart city.” Such integration has the potential to alleviate traffic congestion and curb energy consumption. The impact of IoT extends to power generation and business operations, promising transformative outcomes. Furthermore, the synergy between IoT and cloud computing plays a pivotal role in the wireless communication domain. This paper offers a comprehensive insight into IoT's functionalities and underscores the associated security threats. The study aims to equip academia with an enhanced understanding of diverse IoT applications, particularly their integration with cloud computing, referred to as the “Cloud of Things.”
