Nowadays, IoT technology is used in various application domains, including the healthcare, where sensors and IoT enabled medical devices exchange data without human interaction to securely transmit collected sensitive healthcare data towards healthcare professionals to be reviewed and take proper actions if needed. The IoT devices are usually resource-constrained in terms of energy consumption, storage capacity, computational capability, and communication range. In healthcare applications, many miniaturized devices are exploited for healthcare data collection and transmission. Thus, there is a need for secure data aggregation while preserving the data integrity and privacy of the patient. For that, the security, privacy, and aggregation of health data are very important aspects to be considered. This paper proposes a novel secure data aggregation scheme called “An Efficient and Privacy-Preserving Data Aggregation Scheme with authentication for IoT-Based Healthcare applications” (EPPDA). EPPDA is based to verification and authorization phase to verify the legitimacy of the nodes that need to join the process of aggregation. EPPDA, also, uses additive homomorphic encryption to protect data privacy and combines it with homomorphic MAC to check the data integrity. The major advantage of homomorphic encryption is allowing complex mathematical operations to be performed on encrypted data without knowing the contents of the original plain data. The proposed system is developed using MySignals HW V2 platform. Security analysis and experimental results show that our proposed scheme guarantees data privacy, messages authenticity, and integrity, with lightweight communication overhead and computation.

The Internet of Things (IoT) allows users to collect sensor data, control devices, and analyze collected data over the Internet. IoT devices are located in diverse environments and support many applications. To protect IoT systems from cyber threats, Confidentiality, Integrity, and Authentication—the CIA triad—must be supported. However, IoT devices have limited energy and computational resources. Lightweight encryption algorithms have been proposed for IoT, and have been reviewed by previous studies. Some cover communication protocols, while others cover lightweight security or review the challenges in implementing a secure IoT system. The aim of this literature review is to combine the first two topics: communication protocols and lightweight security. They will be approached from a practitioner’s standpoint. Several applications are provided that help readers with a minor background in security to understand these technologies and which elements of the CIA triad have more priority. This paper describes wide-area IoT networks, such as LoRAWAN, Sigfox, and NB-IoT, and their security. It also describes applications throughout the world, and how to enhance their security by implementing emerging lightweight security—specifically, approaches to make well-known ciphers such as Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) more lightweight.

Weather forecasting is a growing area that predicts the weather that will occur in a particular place at a particular time. Weather forecasting is considered to be the most important part of research where many real-time issues arise. These are the requirements for wireless sensor networks to detect the weather. In this article we propose using the Mayfly Algorithm (MA) hybrid algorithm with Shuffled Shepherd Optimization Algorithm (SSOA). Experimental tasks are carried out with a set of climate data. Based on climatic parameters such as temperature, humidity and clouds, the data is divided into heat, wind and rain. From the result obtained, it is predicted that the weather will prove the proposed qualification methods at the level of accuracy. The result shows that the hybridized SSOA and MA method is efficient and accurate in predicting weather conditions. This experimental result is carried out by using Wireless Sensors Network and IoT on agricultural land.
