Ion acoustic solitary waves and double layers in a plasma with two temperature electrons featuring Tsallis distribution

Abstract: The propagation properties of large amplitude ion acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) are studied in a plasma containing cold fluid ions and multi-temperature electrons (cool and hot electrons) with nonextensive distribution. Employing Sagdeev pseudopotential method, an energy balance equation has been derived and from the expression for Sagdeev potential function, ion acoustic solitary waves and double layers are investigated numerically. The Mach number (lower and upper limits) for the existence of solitary stru… Show more

“…Even, Tsallis nonextensive formalism provides the missing link for Kappa distribution from fundamental physics . A good number of research works with q ‐nonextensive particle distribution to study the solitary structures and double layers in both magnetized and unmagnetized space plasmas have been devoted in the recent years. The basic features of the ion‐acoustic solitons and double layers are found to be significantly modified in the presence of nonextensive electrons enabling a good fit between theory and experiment in the context of astrophysical and space plasmas .…”

The basic features of the ion‐acoustic solitons and double layers are found to be significantly modified in the presence of nonextensive electrons enabling a good fit between theory and experiment in the context of astrophysical and space plasmas . Recently, Saini et al studied dust kinetic Alfven solitary waves and dust kinetic Alfven rogue waves in an electron depleted dusty plasma with two‐temperature nonextensive ions for the first time by using reductive perturbation method, which may provide a deeper insight to understand the nonlinear coherent structures in the Saturn's F‐ring in the background of nonextensive distribution .…”
