“…% in HCP), the present study was performed at the I K -edge (33.169 keV). Only few studies have been performed at the K edge, such as investigations on the coordination environment of liquid I 2 [13,14] and of iodine in hexafluoro-molybdates [15], C 60/70 (I 2 ) x molecules [16] and iodine-doped polyvinyl alcohols [17].…”

“…The synthesis of the [CH 3 CN-I-NCCH 3 ] + cation in the [MoF 6 ] − and [UF 6 ] − salts has already been reported via the reaction of I 2 with the corresponding MF 6 (M = Mo, U) in CH 3 CN solution . Although no solid state X-ray structure determination was reported of these salts, a linear backbone of the non-hydrogen atoms was proposed based on low temperature Raman and EXAFS spectroscopy. A first determination of the structure of the [I(NCMe) 2 ] + cation using K-edge extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) revealed an I−N bond length of 2.17 ± 0.03 Å which is in reasonable agreement with our reported value of 2.198(3) Å.…”
