Sendo assim, apesar de o tratamento da HD com laser de baixa potência efetivamente reduzir a dor, essa discrepância nas metodologias empregadas levou à descrença no uso dessa abordagem entre a comunidade científica (84), apontando para a necessidade de realização de mais pesquisas com evidências consistentes para validar os benefícios da PBM no tratamento da DH (23) Por fim, revisões sistemáticas da literatura tentam chegar a uma conclusão quanto à eficácia do uso da PBM para a redução da HD, mas, devido à falta padronização dos protocolos, é difícil chegar a uma conclusão elucidativa, apesar dos resultados positivos.
