Abstract:Ammonia is a very attractive carbon-neutral fuel due to its low cost, high energy density, and existing transportation infrastructure. However, the viable commercial application of direct ammonia fuel cells (DAFC) has not been realized, largely due to materials challenges that lead to poor cell performance. Generally, DAFCs either use low temperature polymer electrolytes, which are limited by low reaction rates and severe ammonia crossover, or use high temperature solid oxide electrolytes, which suffer from se… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
