According to Zhao et al [10] investigation report on shear stress of steel plates with openings through experimental method and numerical analysis, one steel plate specimen exhibited a failure mode known as tension tear, which occurred at the corners of the plate openings. Upon validating the shear capacity of these particular plates with the shear stress value obtained from ANSYS FEA, the shear stress yielded by the two methods showed good agreement.…”
