“…The use of azaperone followed by metomidate iv was first reported by Hillidge and Lees (1973) as producing excellent excitement-free induction of general anaesthesia with loss of consciousness for periods of up to 5 or 10 mins and recumbency for 20 to 104 mins. Major drawbacks noted by these authors were intravascular haemolysis and excitement on recovery.…”
