Investigation on the Performance of Micro Wind Turbine Rotor Using Whale-Inspired Blade Based on Low Wind Regime

Abstract: The potential of wind energy in a country varies depending on the region. For example, in Northern regions of Nigeria, cities like Minna, Sokoto, Kano and Jos are the most potential locations and experience not more than 5.24 m/s mean wind speed with Jos having the highest average wind speed. In most cases internationally wind turbines are design to operate at the rated wind speed much greater than mean wind speeds in Nigeria (in most cases above 8 m/s). Installation of these wind turbines in a similar locatio… Show more

“…renewable and non-renewable is becoming necessary in order to have efficient energy systems that produces lower level of pollutant emission in order to meet up with the global standard in power systems. This has pushed combustion engineers to create several novel combustion techniques that operate with several forms of fuel 89,90) . They are looking at ways to achieve extremely low emissions of pollutants like NOx and CO, as well as low flame fluctuations, reduced combustion instability, and high levels of efficiency.…”

“…When recirculation ratio is adjusted, combustion systems can be optimized to meet specific emission standards and environmental regulations. The recirculation ratio provides operational flexibility in combustion systems which allows for better control of combustion stability, flame shape, and emissions, enabling the system to operate efficiently across a wide range of operating scenarios [30][31][32]. Recirculation ratio is particularly crucial in flameless combustion systems.…”
