Investigation on rheological properties of technical fabric ?Panama?

Abstract: The paper presents the results of experiments on the technical fabric ''Panama'' carried out with the purpose of identification of inelastic properties of the warp and weft as well as the identification techniques based on the least-squares method. The material parameters are calculated on the basis of the uniaxial tension test in the warp and weft directions. The dense net type of a finite element is proposed to express the behaviour of the technical fabric in the FEM analysis. The Bodner-Partom and Chaboche … Show more

“…Moreover, the mechanical behavior of coated fabrics used for membrane structures is also very complicated. It includes anisotropy, plasticity, time dependency and load ratios dependency [6][7][8][9]. More than fifty years after the pioneering work of Otto et al [10], the development of tension structures has been hampered because of limitations in analysis methodologies [11].…”

“…A similar algorithm has been successfully applied in [18] for evaluation of Bodner-Partom model parameters for metals. The same universal methodology has been implemented to identification of the model parameters for polymers [13], textile fabric "Panama" and solid propellants [20]. Results presented in the next section reveal that it is also valid for investigated special granular structures.…”

“…The parameter-identification procedure applied in this paper generally consists of performinga set of tests for different strain rates on specimens subjected to loading [20]. Displacement, force, and time values are recorded during tests.…”

“…Bridgens and Gosling [17] described the direct stressstrain representation for coated woven fabrics. Kłosowski et al [18] presented viscoplastic properties of coated fabrics under uniaxial tensile tests. Kumazawa et al [19] conducted biaxial tensile experiments of cruciform specimens with an open hole to evaluate the strength of coated plain-weave fabrics composed of specific high-tensile-strength fibres.…”
