Investigation on Pore-Fracture of Coal and Its Influence Mechanism on Tensile Failure Behavior of Coals with Bursting Proneness

Abstract: Both computed tomography (CT) and notched semicircular bend (NSCB) tests are performed for coals with high and medium bursting proneness to extract the scientific expression of pore-fracture and its influence mechanism on the tensile failure behavior. The acoustic emission (AE) parameters in the sample during loading and failure are monitored, and the influence mechanism of pore-fracture on tensile failure behavior of coal is analyzed. The result illustrates that the spatial distribution feature of the pore-fr… Show more

“…In addition to minerals, the degree of pore and fracture development, , distribution characteristics, and connectivity of pores and fractures have a direct influence on the mechanical properties of coal . Initial fractures are critical factors affecting the strength and failure patterns of coal samples. , On the one hand, the presence of pores and fractures weakens the ability of coal to store elastic strain energy and undergo impact damage. On the other hand, original pores and fractures affect the coal’s fracture location, and most of the final fracture surface will pass through the initial fracture during coal damage.…”
