Investigation of thermal decomposition of anthranilates of alkali metals

Abstract: The thermal properties of the anthranilates of the alkali metals Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs were studied. Thermal, chemical and X-ray analyses and infrared spectroscopy were used to determine the reactions of decomposition of these compounds. The thermal properties of the anthranilates of the alkali metals were compared with those of other metals.

“…8 By contrast, information of the coordination chemistry of anthranilic acid and the alkali metals is still very limited. 9, 10 Crystalline samples of sodium-or potassium-activated proteins for structure analysis are generally difficult to obtain, and there is no straightforward technique available to directly probe the environment of the two metal nuclei, e.g. by [Na ϩ ] and [K ϩ ] NMR or NQR spectroscopy, in solution or in the solid state.…”
