The essential oil (EO) of Cota tinctoria var. tinctoria was analyzed using GC-FID / MS. A total of 51 compounds were determined from this taxon, accounting for 99.79% in hydrodistillation. Monoterpenes were the primary chemical class for the volatile organic compounds in the EO (36.1%, 13 compounds). Borneol (18.1%), camphor (14.9%), and β -pinene (11.3%) were the major components in the EO of C. tinctoria var. tinctoria . The antimicrobial activities of EO and n- hexane, acetonitrile, methanol, and water solvent extracts of the taxon were screened in vitro against ten microorganisms. The EO yielded the best activity (15 mm, 372.5 MIC, 59600 μg/μL) against Mycobacterium smegmatis . The acetonitrile extract was the most active against the Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus with 274 μg/mL MIC value. IC 50 values for the lipase enzyme inhibitory activity of EO and solvent extracts ( n- hexane, acetonitrile, methanol, and water) were found to be 59.80 ± 4.3285 μg/mL 68.28 ± 3.1215 μg/mL, 52.60 ± 3.7526 μg/mL, 48.73 ± 2.8265 μg/mL, and 99.50 ± 5.5678 μg/mL, respectively.

Nowadays, one of the therapeutic approaches for obesity is the use pancreatic lipase inhibitors which reduce the digestion and absorption of fats. Most research indicates that natural sources which have a lipase inhibitory effect, may be utilized to treat obesity. Verbascum pyramidatum is one of the potential natural sources for obesity, and it has been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, and regulatory effects on lipid metabolism. With this study, V. pyramidatum's potential lipase inhibitor effect, it is aimed to reveal its value in the treatment of obesity. In vitro spectroscopic method was used to determine the lipase inhibitory effect of V. pyramidatum. The quantitative investigation of V. pyramidatum's phenolic metabolites with antiobesity activity was carried out utilizing the Reverse Phase-High Performance Liquid Chromatography method. In this reported study, it was proven that extract and all fractions had an impact that inhibited lipase, with the ethyl acetate extract showing the highest inhibitory effect. Additionally, it was revealed through HPLC analysis that the species included p-OH benzoic acid, coumaric acid, quercetin, sinapic acid, and syringaldehyde. It has been demonstrated that V. pyramidatum may be a promising candidate for obesity treatment, but further investigations are required to use it as a therapeutic agent.

Bu çalışmada triazol-imidazol halkaları içeren 5 yeni Schiff bazı bileşiği sentezlendi. Bu ikili sistemi içeren bileşikler, heterosiklik imin türevi bileşikler için gerçekleştirilmiştir. Literatür bilgilerine göre, elde edilen bu bileşiklerin antikonvülsan ve antimikrobiyal aktiviteler gibi potansiyel biyolojik aktivitelere sahip olması beklenmektedir. Sentezin birinci basamağında, aril/alkil nitril bileşiklerinden Pinner yöntemi ile iminoster türevi bileşikleri (la-e) elde edildi. İkinci aşamada, aril/alkil iminoester (la-e) bileşiklerinin etoksikarbonil hidrazin bileşiği ile reaksiyonu sonucu ester etoksikarbonil türevi bileşikler (2a-e) elde edildi. Ortaya çıkan ester etoksikarbonil hidrazonlar, hidrazin hidrat ile reaksiyona sokuldu ve literatürde verilen yöntem kullanılarak karşılık gelen triazol-amin (3a-e) bileşikleri elde edildi. Çalışmanın orijinal basamağında, 5-substitue-4-amino-1,2,4-triazol-3-on bileşikleri (3a-e), 4-imidazol karboksialdehit ve beş yeni Schiff bazı 4-{[((1H-imidazol-4-il)metilen]amino}-5-substitue-2,4-dihidro-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-on bileşikleri (4a-e) elde edildi. Bu çalışmada, 5 yeni 5- substitue-4-{[(1H-İmidazol-4-il)metilen]amino}-2,4-dihidro-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-on (4a-e) sentezlendi ve fiziksel özellikleri ile bileşiklerin yapılarının aydınlatılması için IR, 1H-NMR ve 13C-NMR spektral analizleri yapılmıştır. Elde edilen yeni Schiff bazı bileşiklerinin pankreatik lipaz enzim inhibisyon aktiviteleri incelenmiştir. Pozitif kontrol Orlistat’a karşı ortalama aktivite göstermişlerdir
